Channa Tikki Chat
Yesterday it was raining in Bangalore, and my tongue craved for some yummy chaat..and here is what I made : hot and spicy tikkis topped with tangy chutney and fresh yoghurt-a mouth watering chaat recipe..

- Kabuli channa- boiled and coarsely mashed - 1 cup
- 2 medium sized potatoes boiled and mashed
- 2 tsps chaat masala
- 1 tsp chilly powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
For the coriander chutney:
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves
- 1/2 cup dates syrup ( soak dates in warm water for half an hour and grind to make a syrupy paste)
- 2 tsps chilly powder
- salt to taste
- 2 tsps chaat masala
For garnishing :
- Black salt
- Coriander leaves finely chopped
- Onions finely chopped
- Fresh yoghurt
Method :
- Mix the mashed channa and potatoes in a bowl.
- Add chaat masala,salt and chilly powder and mix well.
- Make patties out of this mixture and deep fry in oil to make the tikkis.
- For the coriander chutney, grind the coriander leaves, dates syrup, chilly powder, chaat masala and salt.
- Arrange the tikkis on a plate, top with fresh yoghurt, chutney, coriander leaves, finely chopped onions.
- Sprinkle a pinch of black salt.
- Dive in!
