Peas Pulao
Preparation time: 30 minutes Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup rice
- 1 Cup green peas
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 inch ginger
- 1 pod garlic
- 1 spoon fennel (saunf)
- 1/2 spoon jeera
- 2 green chillies
- 1/2 spoon cardomom seeds
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt to taste
For Garnishing:
- Cashew pieces
- Raisins
- Coriander leaves
- 3 spoons ghee
How to make:
- Boil the rice with 2 cups of water, and set aside.
- Make a fine paste out of ginger, green chillies, garlic, fennel, cardomom, and jeera, by adding a little bit of water.
- Steam the peas for about 10 minutes, and make a paste by blending it with some salt.
- Now take a pan, heat some ghee in it, fry the chopped onions in it for around a minute.
- Now add the paste made in step 2, and saute well.
- Add the blended peas, mix well, and then add milk and let it boil for around half a minute.
- Now add the rice and mix properly.
- Top with some coriander leaves, and cashew nuts & raisins fried in ghee.
This pulao goes well with any raita.
