Aloo Matar Paratha

Parathas are easy to make, healthy and filling. They can be made with almost any veggie, or with cheese or paneer. So go ahead and try this one:

Preparation time: 30 minutes                  Serves 4



Ingredients:
  • 3 medium sized Potatoes
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 3 cups wheat flour
  • 2 spoons red chilly powder
  • 1 spoon saunf (fennel)
  • 1 spoon jeera seeds
  • 1/2 spoon amchur powder
  • 1 spoon garam masala
  • 1 spoon dhania powder
  • 4 tsps Ghee or oil
  • Butter
  • salt to taste
How to make:
The stuffing : 
  • Boil & mash the potatoes & green peas.
  • In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes & peas with saunf, jeera seeds,amchur powder, dhania powder, red chilly powder, garam masala powder and salt.
The dough :
  • Make a soft dough out of wheat flour,ghee & salt, and set aside for around 15-20 minutes, and make small balls out of it.
  • Take a ball of flour, and roll it out to resemble the size of a puri.
  • Now take a ball of the stuffing, and place it on the rolled dough.
  • Seal the dough on all sides, and gently roll it, by patting flour on both sides.
  • Now heat a pan, and apply a little bit of ghee in it.
  • Place the rolled paratha on the pan, and cook till the colour turns to a brownish yellow, and repeat for the other side.
  • Add a blob of butter on top, and serve hot either with fresh curd, raita, mango pickle or dal.
